This shoe rack features a minimalist design in which all the boards are the exact same thickness and width and joined together with dowels. Drilling a lot of holes in a lot of boards in the exact same positions can be tricky: if any of the holes are slightly misaligned, it will be very difficult to thread a dowel through them. You will need a drill press to make this project.
I simplified the drill-boring so that almost all the holes are on the ends of the boards. And there are only three different board lengths, not including the optional support cleats.
